Universities’ research is assessed on the impact it has in the wider world as well as its academic excellence. In 2014 and now again in 2021, David Souden has been a key member of the group assessing impact and excellence in History.

 

In the interim, Past Present’s experience has been taken up by university departments to develop approaches to impact, in which outcomes are the key element. Strong narratives are the means to explain and identify impact.

 

Once the current assessment is complete in the spring of 2022, Past Present is available once more to devise and advise on impact strategies and narratives.
